Deadpool (2016) Synopsis: The opening scene shows Wade Wilson, the superhero Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) in a cab, bored in the backseat. Deadpool 2016 He slides up front to chat with the cabbie, Dopinder (Karan Soni). Deadpool 2016 Deadpool asks Dopinder about a picture of a girl he has in his car, and Dopinder says she was his girlfriend until he lost her to his cousin. Deadpool 2016 Dopinder then takes Deadpool to the middle of a bridge, and Deadpool stiffs the man for cab fare.

Deadpool waits on top of a bridge for his targets, but first addresses the audience and jokes about fondling Wolverine’s balls to get his own movie. Deadpool 2016 He then spots a group of vans arriving, and he jumps into one of the men before beating up of all the thugs in the van, causing an accident that kills other villains. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool’s main target is Ajax (Ed Skrein), the man that gave him his powers and also horribly disfigured him. Deadpool 2016 The vans all come crashing to the end of the bridge, where one thug’s head is slice off with a chain, and another one gets gorily splattered against a sign on the highway.

At Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters, Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) sees the chaos unfolding on the news and calls Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) to join him in getting Deadpool.

Deadpool is upset because he forgot his bag of weapons and only has 12 rounds in his gun. Deadpool 2016 He counts off how many rounds with each thug he kills, accidentally missing a few shots, but he manages to kill three men with one bullet. Deadpool 2016 One last thug comes at Deadpool with two knives, but Deadpool quickly skewers him. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool then points out that this is a different kind of superhero movie, and that we need to go back for him to tell it properly.

Flashback to one year earlier….

Wade Wilson was a mercenary-for-hire living in New York City. Deadpool 2016 He takes a job getting a pizza delivery boy to stop stalking a girl by threatening him. Deadpool 2016 Once his job is done, the girl thanks him and calls him her hero, to which Wade quickly points out that that is something he is not.

Wade goes to the bar where his friend Weasel (TJ Miller) works. Deadpool 2016 Wade orders a drink called a Blowjob and has the bartender bring it to a big thug and to say it came from another man, leading to a bar fight where people bet on others to die, which is called the “dead pool”. Deadpool 2016 At this bar, Wade meets a prostitute named Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). Deadpool 2016 They bond over their weird, messed up lives before starting a sexual relationship, which eventually evolves into a romantic one.

Wade is genuinely happy until he is diagnosed with cancer in his liver, lungs, prostate and brain. Deadpool 2016 He fears more for what will happen to Vanessa than to him. Deadpool 2016 At the bar, Weasel tells him that a man sitting in the corner is looking for him. Deadpool 2016 He is The Recruiter (Jed Rees), and he tells Wade that he works for a facility that will not only cure him of his cancer, but also give him incredible powers. Deadpool 2016 Wade is hesitant, but he takes the card that The Recruiter gives him.

Back in the present, Deadpool finds Ajax headed to him on a motorcycle and he throws his kitana at the bike, causing Ajax to crash. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool impales Ajax with the other blade, but since Ajax is a mutant, the blade doesn’t kill him. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool lifts up his mask for to show his scars so that Ajax can recognize him as Wade Wilson. Deadpool 2016 Colossus and Negasonic then arrive. Deadpool 2016 Colossus is displeased with Deadpool causing so much mayhem and tries to get him to join the X-Men, to which Deadpool refuses. Deadpool 2016 With his back turned, Ajax escapes. Deadpool 2016 Enraged, Deadpool tries to hit Colossus, but he ends up breaking both hands and his foot. Deadpool 2016 Colossus cuffs Deadpool to his wrist, but Deadpool chooses to cut his hand off and hop into a garbage van, leaving his hand to give Colossus the finger.

In another flashback, Wade made the choice to be cured for Vanessa, leaving her alone in the middle of the night and never returning. Deadpool 2016 He goes to the facility where he meets Ajax for the first time, along with his cohort Angel Dust (Gina Carano). Deadpool 2016 Ajax says that in order for Wade’s cells to heal, they have to subject him to extreme stress for the mutant cells to activate.

Wade undergoes torture techniques until Ajax tells him that they are making him into a super slave to be auctioned off somewhere. Deadpool 2016 Wade makes fun of Ajax after learning his real name is Francis. Deadpool 2016 Ajax straps Wade to a chamber where his oxygen is cut off. Deadpool 2016 His skin and face start to blotch up, making him disfigured. Deadpool 2016 Ajax opens the chamber and tells Wade his cancer is gone. Deadpool 2016 Wade headbutts Angel and takes a match that she kept in her mouth. Deadpool 2016 He lights it and throws it near the oxygen vent, causing an explosion in the laboratory. Deadpool 2016 Ajax goes down to see what happened, and Wade starts to fight him. Deadpool 2016 He has gotten increased strength, but Ajax gets the upper hand and impales Wade with a bar, which he leaves bent. Deadpool 2016 Ajax leaves as the facility crumbles around Wade.

Wade wakes up alive, but horrified by his complexion. Deadpool 2016 He walks through the streets with a hood over his head, but the people that see him are creeped out by his appearance. Deadpool 2016 This makes him worry about what Vanessa will think if she sees him, so he stays away from her completely.

Wade visits Weasel, who is also disgusted by his appearance and makes a few quips at his expense. Deadpool 2016 Weasel encourages Wade to make a suit and mask to disguise himself as he goes back to hunt for Ajax so that he can fix his face. Deadpool 2016 Wade decides to call himself “Deadpool” and begins his crusade to find Ajax by plowing through his goons until he can find him. Deadpool 2016 He finds The Recruiter, who says what he knows about Ajax’s whereabouts before Deadpool kills him. Deadpool 2016 In this time, Wade has decided to stay with a blind woman named Al (Leslie Uggams).

Back in the present day, Deadpool rides the garbage truck back to his and Al’s place, and his hand starts to slowly grow back.

Ajax and Angel go to Weasel’s bar to locate Deadpool. Deadpool 2016 Angel grabs Weasel by the throat, but the other bar patrons turn their guns on her and Ajax. Deadpool 2016 They find a picture of Wade and Vanessa together before leaving.

After being told to just face Vanessa himself, Wade goes to the strip club where she works (where we see Stan Lee as a DJ), but is still scared to face her. Deadpool 2016 Vanessa’s co-worker tells her that an ex-boyfriend is out back looking for her. Deadpool 2016 She goes outside and thinks it’s Wade, but it’s Ajax. Deadpool 2016 He and Angel take her. Deadpool 2016 Wade goes out back to look for her but only finds her handbag, letting him know that she’s been taken.

Infuriated, Wade grabs all the guns he owns and goes to the X-Mansion to get Colossus and Negasonic to help him get back Vanessa and stop Ajax. Deadpool 2016 He then quips that the mansion is so big, yet it looks like the studio couldn’t afford more than two X-Men.

The mutants take a cab driven by Dopinder to Ajax’s location. Deadpool 2016 They hit a bump and Deadpool hears a scream from the trunk. Deadpool 2016 Dopinder admits he kidnapped his cousin. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool pretends to be horrified but quietly congratulates Dopinder. Deadpool 2016 The three then track Ajax down to a scrapyard. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool charges toward the goons while Colossus and Negasonic fight Angel. Deadpool 2016 She slams Colossus away, but Negasonic charges at Angel with great power.

Deadpool rips through the goons and uses their corpses to spell out Francis’s name to mock him. Deadpool 2016 He runs up to the aircraft carrier where Ajax is keeping Vanessa. Deadpool 2016 He puts her in the same chamber where he put Wade. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool duels with Ajax with their blades. Deadpool 2016 Meanwhile, Angel almost strangles Colossus with a bar, but Negasonic creates a powerful blast that throws Angel off and destroys the carrier. Deadpool 2016 It starts to collapse, sending numerous freight containers down. Deadpool 2016 Colossus carries Negasonic and Angel to safety while Deadpool makes sure Vanessa safely lands. Deadpool 2016 The carrier then completely crashes down.

Ajax attacks Deadpool once again until the latter has him pinned down. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool holds his gun at Ajax’s head and demands that he fix his face, but Ajax laughs and says there was never a cure for that. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool is ready to kill Ajax until Colossus steps in and starts to make a big speech on making the hero’s decision to spare his enemy’s life. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool gets tired of the speech and he just shoots Ajax in the head, making Colossus puke. Deadpool 2016 Afterwards, Deadpool finally confronts Vanessa and apologizes for abandoning her. Deadpool 2016 She removes his mask to see his face, but he is wearing a cut-out of Hugh Jackman’s face. Deadpool 2016 She sees his real face and says she will eventually get used to it. Deadpool 2016 They kiss, and Deadpool signs off as the movie ends.

After the end credits, Deadpool appears in his bathrobe telling the audience to leave for the movie is over (a homage to the final shot of ‘Ferris Bueller’s Day Off’). Deadpool 2016 However, he comes back and says that the studio is trying to get Cable to be in a sequel. Deadpool 2016 Deadpool walks away, but then pops his head out to go “Chicka-chicka!”

  1. ogoschka-1 from wherever good films play says:

I really, really liked Deadpool. And you know what? I didn’t expect to.Seriously, I was never a fan of the character (in the sense that Ihardly knew anything about him) and the humor as well as the violenceseemed forced and overdone in the trailers. Still, I remainedinterested in the film, I just never expected it to actually be good -until the reviews arrived. After most critics unexpectedly showeredthis newest superhero movie with praise, I went in cautiouslyoptimistic (but still fully prepared to hate the film).

The first thing I noticed was how inventive the storytelling is. Thefilm throws you into the action from the first moment (literally: thevery first moment) and then it goes back and forth in brilliant andunexpected ways to slowly unspool the story of this insane – but oddlycharming – antihero. Flashbacks and fast-forwards can be annoying ashell, but when done right, they can help render even a somewhat simplestory fresh and exciting. And that’s exactly how Deadpool felt to meright from the start: like a fresh (if somewhat dirty) jolt of energy.

The action itself is beautifully designed, employing playful visualsand using pretty much every camera technique available; it never feelsrepetitive and the pacing is close to perfection. But, and that wasprobably the key to me liking the film so much, there’s a beating heartunderneath all the action and carnage, and that has a lot to do withhow brilliantly Ryan Reynolds portrays the character and the greatchemistry he has with co-star Morena Baccarin. What came as a completesurprise to me was how unabashedly romantic Deadpool is. The love storyin this film is probably the most sincere I’ve ever seen in a superheromovie and it gives the film the strong emotional core which so many ofthese movies lack.

The humor, which I initially feared would just be non-stop juvenilewisecracks and soon become distracting, also works surprisingly well. Not every line or every joke lands – but that’s the beauty of thischaracter: they don’t really need to. Deadpool can’t help himself; aslong as he’s able to breathe he’ll crack wise and make fun of himselfand those around him. It’s a clinical condition; he’s not a stand-upcomedian whose jokes need to land: he’s a madman (albeit a veryentertaining one) and the comedy in his case is born out of tragedy.

Despite all my praise, it’s not a perfect film. The villain in thisrevenge tale could be more memorable and the story itself is a bit tooderivative to really do its highly unconventional protagonist (heinsists he’s not a hero) justice: but it’s a damn good first entry in afranchise that will hopefully explore the character and his world to amuch larger extent in the sequel(s). And it’s actually a very importantfilm for another reason. If Deadpool is a financial success – which atthis point is already clear it will be – this could play a vital rolein how studios henceforth view the financial prospects of R-ratedsuperhero films, and we’ll hopefully see more of them in the future.

Many people might feel different – and I respect their opinion – butI’ve grown tired of the entirely bloodless CGI overkill in all those200 million productions where even the most terrible villains talk likeMormon schoolgirls. I mean: there’s a gigantic audience out there thatis over the age of 18, loves to read comic books and can absolutelyhandle real-world language, real-world sex and real-world violence insuperhero movies. This genre is so diverse; it’s ridiculous to believejust because comic books have pictures in them all film adaptations -regardless of the material – must automatically be made for kids inorder to be successful.

As it is, I think Deadpool – a dirty, funny, sexy and violent filmwhich is decidedly NOT for kids – just proved my point perfectly. 8stars out of 10.

  2. aparupb from India says:

Its an overrated movie with curses written by some 12 year old. Nostory, no real plot, the film could have done without the villain. Thisfilm deserves a 5 or 6 stars at the highest. The reason I am giving ita 1 is due to its over rating. The film mainly attract audiences of16-25 years. Just a cash grab film. Simply marvel’s worst. And there’sthe feminism there. The heroine always has to save the hero now. Ryan’sacting was good in this movie. It suited him. The cgi wasn’t bad. Butif this movie were to come out before the Iron man then it would’ve got4-5 stars. There are some marvel films which deserve higher ratinginstead of this movie

  3. whatdamonks from United States says:

If you enjoy sitting in on conversations that are typical of young andfoolish teenage boys this is the movie for you. Every other linecontains the F word and for some reason the director thought penisjokes are the funniest around.

The story is about as hollow as the humor. It’s a cheap and bland storyabout revenge and invincibility painted with a veneer of “love” that isas misguided as the character’s personality. The movie is littered withsarcasm and cynicism that just becomes depressing after a while.

Ryan Reynolds acts like a 13 year old boy throughout the movie, cursingand making penis jokes and then talking to the audience thinking he isvery funny.

This is the most overrated movie I’ve seen. Most of these reviews onIMDb had to have been paid for. Hollywood had to have paid for thishype or people these days have really low standards. This is a low browfilm like no other.

Save 2 hours of your life and do not watch this movie.

  4. varnium from Indonesia says:

Out of all Marvel movies made, Deadpool was the worst. The maincharacter talks too much it became very annoying after 5 minutes. Thejokes were not funny. The scene transition between flashbacks andpresent conditions were not well done.

They tried to put in 2 X-Men character in the worst possible way. Itreally shows that the studio had no budget for many characters, butinstead they invested a lot in the slow-motion special effect, whichwas cool.

In terms of story-line, there’s no story. There’s no character buildingas well. For about 2 hours, all you can do is endure the horribleblabber mouth of the main character. Not funny and irritate the ear.

I wonder how many people did the studio pay to write in good reviews inthis website…

    Worst Marvel Movie Ever.

  5. bsingh_p from London, England says:

One word describes this movie – pointless.

Wow, this film was incredibly boring. People are hyping this movie overnothing. The story is so simple and boring. It didn’t even feel like Iwas watching a thought-provoking movie, more like a short and simple TVseries with an unfunny, forced and pointless main character on hispointless adventure to fight forgettable and pointless villains.

The X-men were pointless as well. They didn’t add anything to thestory. They only assisted Deadpool with fighting the villains whentheir original goal was to have deadpool work for them. They happilyaccepted Deadpool as a murderer and wished a murderer to join them.

The only okay point in this movie was the action. However, the actionstill could have been better as it felt very rushed at times, and atother times very short and at times it lacked in good choreography. Itdidn’t feel intense at all, more like you know the villains are goingto fail very easily.

I also hated the use of childish words being used quite a bit toexplain the purpose of the weapon x program e.g. “superheroes”,”superslaves” etc. What are these villains even doing? There wasnothing deep and meaningful behind the program and these villains. Thestory was lacking in too many ways. The world felt very empty andhollow.

Looks like people are very cheap and easy nowadays that they wouldenjoy anything just because it is r-rated. That is the truth, that isthe only reason this movie has such a high rating because of the use of”F” words and other vulgar words, it has sex and nude scenes and it isgory and violent. None of this is new. Again, the Story and Charactersare terrible.

  6. anenada from Taiwan says:

The film is made out of Ryan Reynolds, throwing lame jokes to thecamera. In between there are bullets and knifes. No surprises. Noideas. The story is simple and silly and boring. Man sleeps with womanlong in different scenes (Teens hello! Better watch porn, there aremore details!) Man go’s to basement to become special. (Teens like tobe special) Man becomes special and kills all bad guys around him. THEEND

The jokes are not only lame, they are old. For example the joke withthe red shirt and brown trousers I heard from my grandpa.

Don’t waste your time with this film. Marvell tries to squeeze out lastcents out of the theme. Bad films will follow.

  7. jelimafish says:

Firstly I would like to state that it is completely hilarious readingreviews with One Star because the movie had “Foul Language” and “SexScenes” or that someone had no idea that the movie was inappropriatefor their 9 year old kid. Dead Pool is rated R and with 3 minutes ofresearch you could have determined if this movie was for you or notWith that being said I will not delve into the plot but the acting andwriting were fantastic. Ryan Reynolds nailed this role. If you areeasily offended by violence, language, or nudity this is not the moviefor you but if you have a sense of humor and want to be entertained for2 straight hours you will love this movie.

  8. GoodHandsomeLad from United States says:

Deadpool is a 2016 film that the eighth film in the X-Men franchisewhere The Merc with the Mouth seeks revenge in a humorous way.

Deadpool is a triumph of artistic vision over studio interference.Little credit should be given to 20th Century Fox, as they had zerofaith in the success of a Deadpool movie. To put things intoperspective, Ryan Reynolds fought for this film back in 2004 whenBlade: Trinity was released. Reynolds and co. went to shoot testfootage that was then leaked online by Reynolds because Fox had nointentions to release it to the public. Finally, after years and yearsof BEGGING to the studio and the overwhelming positive responses of thetest footage from the public, Fox didn’t even tell Reynolds and co.that the film was greenlit. They had to find out online like the restof us plebeians. If that sounds bad, Fox even cut their budget by $7million AT THE LAST MINUTE, which caused the writers to scratch someaction sequences that I’m sure would’ve been great to see.

Deadpool now has the biggest opening weekend in the month of February(surpassing Fifty Shades of Grey), the biggest opening weekend for 20thCentury Fox (surpassing all the X-Men films), and the biggest openingweekend for an R rated film EVER (surpassing The Matrix: Reloaded). With all that being said, Deadpool is a hilariously entertaining filmthat works mainly because of Reynolds himself. His comedic skills payoff gloriously as the titular character, who gives so many quips in oneinstance that some jokes will be missed. Of course, credit should begiven to the writers too (AKA: The Real Heroes Here), and it’simpressive that this is Tim Miller’s directorial debut. The actionsequences and pacing are so good that you’d think this came from aveteran director.

From the ingenious opening credits to the subversive ending, Deadpoolconstantly upends clichés and tropes you’re used to seeing in superheroflicks in the past few years. What’s great here is the filmmakers hadsomething weird and perverse and just went with it. Jokes aboutpedophilia, pegging, and sex run rampant, but it’s never really dark, despite the mature subject matter. On top of that, it’s also veryrefreshing to see a pansexual superhero in such a big studio film. It’sunheard of these days. Fox and other studios, learn from this success. It’s not the fact that a hard R-rated film can do well, it’s thatDeadpool also happens to be very good, most likely because you, Fox,actually gave the filmmakers the creative freedom to do whatever thehell they wanted.

I was really looking forward to Deadpool as I’m a Ryan Reynolds fan andit’s rated R.

However the humor is toilet humor. It’s about farts, jerking off andcomments about actors, including Reynolds himself and other movies.

The plot is that Wade Wilson gets terminal cancer and in order to savehis life he agrees to undergo an experiment that will give him thepower to heal. However Ajax, the man that turn people into mutants andsometimes just kill them, can’t be trusted. And Ajax, who is thevillain is played by the awful Ed Skrein from the awful reboot ofTransporter. Ajax tortures Wade and the lab explodes (I can’t rememberwhy) and Wade has become scarred and takes the new identity asDeadpool. He starts to kill a lot of people looking for Ajax. But eventhough the movie is rated R, some scenes where he tortures badguys areactually not shown. Ajax in a desperate attempt to stop Wade kidnapsWades boney girlfriend and Wade has to get help from the two mostannoying X-men characters I have ever seen. Some lesbian lookingteenage girl with a shaved head and a cgi-Russian guy made out ofmetal.

The violence is awesome and a welcome change from the bloodless Marvelviolence. However all the violence can be seen in the red band trailerand the rest is crap. So if you’ve seen the trailer, I recommend notwatching the movie as you will be really disappointed.

Bringing X-men into the movie is annoying as hell as I’ve always hatedthe X-men. And Wade talking to the camera gets really annoying after awhile.

On top of that the action itself is disappointing as this is clearly alow budget movie.

Avoid this and watch the first Kickass movie (not the second one!!!) ifyou like violent superhero movies.
